In 2012, we improved our in-situ testing capabilities with the acquisition of the Pagani Geotechnical Equipment TG63-150 kN Drill Rig. This is a small 1-ton track mounted, hydraulic driven, gas powered drill rig produced primarily for static Cone Penetration Testing (CPT testing). The Mechanical Friction Cone (Begemann Type) CPT test is our basis of penetration testing as it can afford a greater daily metre-rate output with data acquired every 20 cm or 0.20 metres.
Our Pagani Geotechnical Equipment TG63-150 kN Drill Rig is also capable of Electric Piezocone Penetration Testing (CPTu testing) which can be used to provide greater resolution in acquired data (as little as every 1 cm / 0.01 metres). Pore pressure data is simultaneously recorded and allows for the determination of time-rate settlement characteristics of soils from real-time dissipation testing. Seismic Shear Wave Velocity data (SCPTu) can also be recorded onsite as needed. Depths of 30 metres are attainable for CPT, CPTu and SCPTu testing.
Testing is conducted in accordance with ASTM D 3441 and ASTM D 5778.
